Death-defying aerobatic stunts are returning to California’s coast when the Huntington Beach Pacific Airshow returns later this month. From September 30th to October 2nd, spectators can view the awe-inspiring talents of the US Navy’s Blue Angels, the US Air Force’s Thunderbirds, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, and much more.

In less than a month, the Pacific Airshow is returning to Huntington Beach. From Friday, September 30th through Sunday, October 2nd, the “spectacle-scale family-friendly event,” which has gained a nationwide reputation as America’s best-attended Airshow, will be free to view from many locations in Huntington Beach.

This year, the Pacific Airshow’s “exhilaratingly precise” display of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will done in celebration of the military branch’s 75h Anniversary. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will also join the lineup of featured aviators.

During the three days, aviation feats, patriotic energy, and thrilling entertainment provides viewers with a unique experience. One featured flyer, Red Bull air race champion Matt Hall, will perform high-speed, death-defying stunts in a plane that has the potential to exert a G-Force of 14 on him. For comparison, the highest G-Force record for roller coasters is 6.3.

A former Australian Air Force pilot who spent three years in an exchange program with the U.S. Air Force, Matt Hall participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the U.S. effort to eliminate former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Air shows are an international phenomenon, with the Pacific Air Show in particular traveling between two coasts: Southern California and Australia’s Gold Coast. Spectators cheer for the feats that members of the military can achieve in the air, such as the high-precision, speedy U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels or the U.S. Air Force’s Thunderbirds.

This event is free to the public, but if attendees would like premium Airshow viewing, there are a few options to upgrade at the Huntington Beach Pier’s Show Center. General Admission allows for first-come-first-serve sand seating, Pier Seating gives attendees unreserved first-come-first-serve chair seating on the pier, Premiere Club allows entrance into a reserved section, and Cabanas can be rented for large parties.
