RNC Chairwoman made mention of multiple GOP candidates with Dixon state legislature bid acknowledged.

On a recent visit to Orange County, RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel emphasized the importance of voting for GOP candidates in the general election just five weeks away. One of the candidates on the ballot is Diane Dixon.

Dixon is running to represent Assembly District 72 recently formed through redistricting. Dixon, a Newport Beach City Council member, is running for state legislature. She has been an active representative of her constituents pushing back with an ordinance to call out  Sacramento’s attempts to diminish the city’s and local government’s control, through regulations that reduce local power. One such decision coming out of Sacramento mandated 180,000 new homes be built in Orange County in a short time span, forcing the county to build more homes that it can reasonably manage.

The fight against crime in California is central in Dixon’s run for assemblywoman. She criticized  “laws that reward criminal behavior, punish law enforcement and abandon victims,” which passed under governors Newsom and Brown. California has seen crime spike in recent years as laws soft on crime release offenders back onto the streets. Orange County, considered a fairly safe area, has seen its share of criminal activity affecting its communities.

Dixon is facing off against Democrat Judie Mancuso. Mancuso is a former nonprofit leader who has focused on environmental issues and protecting animal in her past work. She was also a Laguna Beach City Council candidate in 2018 and 2016. Mancuso has received backing from OC Democrats including Congresswoman Katie Porter, and progressive organizations including Planned Parenthood.

Dixon advocates for hurting and hard working Californians affected by “far left” policies implemented by the Democratic super majority in Sacramento. Inflation and astronomical gas prices are adversely affecting Californians creating a budgetary crisis that’s concerning to her.

McDaniel shared that Republicans hope the candidates running in Orange County districts can bring legislative change and some relief to the communities.
